Testo: The company started with retail sale of a few items and in time grew larger as to number and variety of products, in parallel with the number of personnel, both full time and part time employed. At its outset the company did not have a well organized structure of departments, which would perform divided and well defined functions, such as finance, sales or marketing. Initially all these functions were executed by a few employees or the shareholders themselves. This was also how technology and motor vehicles of the company were developed. It was a time when there were no brand exclusivity agents in the domestic market and a business could bring in any product that they sensed the market would digest. The market was also unbalanced because there were no sales representatives for most products. This trade route required no investment in marketing or below the line or above the line promotional activities. At the beginning of its activity, the firm traded refreshments and fruit juices, specifically it started with: PEPSI in various formats, initially cans, 1,5L plastic bottles, IVI in 0,25L and 1L formats, with Greece being the key supplier. Later on it expanded its trade scale with the imports of KRONERBOURG, also from Greece. At this time, the firm's key target was the sale of products that came from foreign suppliers. With sales being in firs plan, and in addition to a hunger of the Albanian market for quality products, the next target became creating and expanding our network of sales and delivery, aiming at powerful clients all over the domestic market span. Initially clients were picked from the areas surrounding Gjirokastra and later the firm managed to cover the whole country. The firm's activity later grew sizably with a new supplier from the neighboring Italy and new products such as beer brands: MORETI 0,33L, NASTRO AZZURO 0,5L cans. Because of the nature of products such as MORETTI, KRONENBURG, the firm's best clients came from the country's lowland and northern regions. Following, the firm introduced AMSTEL cans and bottles of 0,33L & 0,5L also supplied from Greece, until year 2000. Year 2000 marks the beginning of wholesale exclusivity agreements, or the distribution of products to a certain market only by one company. This brought a huge change to the firm's organizational structure. The marketing department, alongside that of distribution, sales, customer care, various BTL or ATL activities, emerged, grew stronger and expanded. This year also marks the firm's wholesale exclusivity of another big brand, FISCHER, for Albania, from a product supply agreement with the Greek ATHINAIKI ZITHOPIIA, located in Greece. The exclusivity goes on today through bilateral contracts. Since year 2000, wholesale exclusivities have increased in number due to the growing needs of the developing trade market in Albania. In 2002, the firm obtained the wholesale exclusivity for Johnson&Johnson, one of the top multinational brands, which currently ranks 9th on a global scale. Cooperation of this kind is going on today with a number of global firms, making possible the expansion of our product diversity. The wholesale exclusivity for STELLA spaghetti produced in Greece by KIKIZAS, following with the exclusivity of leather shoe care products from AXXON – GERMANOS, and stationary items from VLADI SPECTRUP GROUP located in Sofia of Bulgaria. Cosmetics, perfumes, deodorants, hair care products, etc; before and after shave products, such as WILKINSON, the number two brand after GILLETE. Wholesale of form the ALEXANDRIA MILLS rice supplier from Egypt. CONVOY–WORLDS, detergents and home care, located in Sofia, Bulgaria. From a contract with the BOLTON GROUP, the firm got the exclusivity of SOFTEX, which includes products like paper, kitchenware, hygiene, tissues, etc. The firm today is well established in a broad market, southern and central Albania in particular. Additionally BASHA Co., since 2002 is the major shareholder of SIN – TEL rural telecommunication company, which has been successfully running a rural wired telephony in Gjirokaster – Sarande – Delvine. Apart from the branches through which it has built a stable customer base, it also imports non-exclusive products, such as refreshments, from the neighboring Italian market. The firm operates the whole year, Monday to Saturday between 08:00 – 16:00, excepts Sundays and official holidays.
